Shilah M. “Strong Heart" Colbert, 30, of Wakefield, died unexpectedly Friday. Born in South Kingstown, she was a daughter of Melanie J. (Chafee) Colbert of Wakefield and Donald L. Colbert, Jr. of Pennsylvania. She was a member of the Narragansett Indian Tribe and she enjoyed her Pow-Wow’s and beading Native American Earrings. Besides her parents she is survived by two sisters, Sacha P. Colbert and Shantelle Colbert, both of North Kingstown; paternal grandmother, Emeline Thomas Colbert of Cranston; paternal grandfather, Donald L. Colbert, Sr., of Georgia; nieces and nephews, DeQuan S. Colbert, Raven M. Colbert, Javon Yanir Colbert and Sariya Ajanae Colbert; and many cousins and dear friends. Visiting hours will be at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, Wednesday 11-12 Noon, followed by a funeral service at Noon. Burial will be private. A reception will be held at the Four Winds Community Center in Charlestown, following the service.
